Rajasthan commissions 5 MW solar energy project

The solar energy project is located at Pokaran, District Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The solar power project was allotted under Jawahar Lal National Solar Mission (JNNSM) by NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN), the Nodal agency under Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). The PPA for the project was signed on Jan 10, 2011 and as per the PPA the project was to be commissioned by Jan 9, 2012. The solar power plant will generate 9.588 million units of electricity annually.

MSL is already in the field of renewable energy and is operating 20 wind turbines producing 7MW wind power in the district Satara, Maharashtra.
