Wind energy in Brazil

Governor Eduardo Campos on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding with the French company Eolice. The company will install in Suape Industrial Complex, for the manufacture of wind turbine blades in order to generate 1,500 direct jobs with an investment of 100 million reais.

The ceremony was held this morning at the Palace of the Princesses of the field, attended by the vice president of wind energy company, Richard Pettifor.

With the installation of new plant in Suape will provide all necessary equipment for wind farm generation, covering the entire value chain of the wind energy industry. Impsa, an Argentine manufacturer of wind turbines, already installed, and RM Wind, a manufacturer of towers. Iraeta, a company that produces flanges, is under construction.

Eolice has signed an agreement with the company’s wind energy LM Wind Power, a Danish group, for the installation of wind turbine blade factory in Pernambuco. LM Wind Power Group has been in the wind power business for 30 years and is currently present in 11 countries, including Canada, Spain and the United States.
