Wind farm in Nebraska breaks ground

Wind energy farm in Nebraska breaks ground. Construction began on the $145 million, 80 MW capacity Broken Bow wind farm in Nebraska.

Work on the plant is scheduled for completion by November 2012. The wind power plant will use 50 wind turbines and will be owned and operated by Edison Mission Group, a unit of Edison International (NYSE: EIX), Midwest Wind Energy and Nebraska Public Power District. All of the power produced by Broken Bow will be sold to NPPD under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
