Hvar to build first solar energy plant in Croatia

The head of the project Alen Curin presented the town’s idea at the SASO International Fair in Split. "Can Dalmatian islands offer something more than the sea, the sun, the shore, the summer and tourism?" Curin asked those gathered. Yes – renewable energy, not only from the sun but also wind and water sources.

"The ideal location of great energy potential, energy crisis and high prices of energy – which can only be produced from renewable sources – are just some of the advantages of the [Gdinj] location," Curin said.

At the meeting there was talk about long-term perspectives of the development of the renewable energy sectors especially in Dalmatia that has exceptional natural predispositions and resources, portal Business writes.
