Photovoltaic Solar Power Isofoton Celebrates Its 30th Anniversary

Isofoton will present its proposal aimed to cover different needs related with the generation of photovoltaic (PV) solar energy at Solar Power International 2011, which runs from 17-20 October 2011 at the Dallas Convention Centre (booth 2147) in Dallas, Texas.

Isofoton will also present its leading products: the ISF-225, ISF-250 and ISF-280 modules with 54, 60 and 70 cells, respectively. In these panels, it is possible to personalise the backsheet by client requirements in white, black or transparent. Also, Isofoton will exhibit the ISF 225 module that can deliver 225 watts (W). This 54-cell module allows an additional 10W to be obtained (a 4.6% increase over its predecessor) thanks to improvements in the output of cells that Isofoton is developing in its research and development (R&D) centre in Spain. These products offer suitable technical solutions for architectural integration projects. They also allow a high energy efficiency to be obtained due to the incorporation of micro-structure glass and the strict control of the manufacturing process for the high-efficiency cells that optimise operations in low-irradiance conditions.

Together with its ISF modules, Isofoton will also present its latest developments in high-concentration technology materialised in the GEN 2 module and in the high-precision solar trackers with engineering developed by Indra to specifications set by Isofoton. This technology has already been successfully implanted in Morocco and in Spain and offers great potential for regions such as the Mojave or Arizona deserts.

Isofoton will celebrate its 30th anniversary at SPI 2011 with its American clients and the news that in 2012 it will open its first PV panel manufacturing plant in Ohio. It will signify an investment of approximately $31.2 million (USD) and the recruiting of about 330 professionals over three years.
