Enel Green Power begins operation of new wind farm in Portugal

Enel Green Power’s total installed capacity in Portugal now exceeds 191MW, of which 155MW are generated from wind, the company said. The wind energy plant, called Alto do Marco, is comprised of six 2 MW wind turbines for a total installed capacity of 12MW.

Enel Green Power SpA, an Italy-based energy generation company, has announced that its subsidiary Enel Green Power Espana, has begun the operation of a new wind farm in Portugal. The wind energy plant, called Alto do Marco, is comprised of six 2 MW wind turbines for a total installed capacity of 12MW.

The new wind power plant will generate more than 32 million kWh, enough to meet the needs of around 12 thousand households as well as avoiding the emission of around 24 thousand metric tons of CO2 per year.

Enel Green Power’s total installed capacity in Portugal now exceeds 191 MW, of which 155 MW are generated from wind power.
