REpower and Vattenfall to install 122 MW wind farm in the Netherlands.

REpower Systems SE – in which Suzlon Energy Limited is the majority shareholder with approximately 95 per cent holding – has concludeda contract with Zuidlob Wind B.V., now owned by Nuon, part of Swedish Vattenfall, for the delivery of a total of 36 wind turbines each ofthe 3.4M104 type aggregating 122 MW.

The wind turbines are to be installed in a wind farm near Zeewolde (Province Flevoland). With a total output of around 122 Megawatts (MW) the wind power project is the largest wind farmin the Netherlands to date held by a single owner.

The wind turbine type 3.4M104 belongs to the latest generation of onshore wind turbines of the three-megawatt-class and Is optimized for locations with strong wind conditions. The wind turbines have a hub height of 98 meters and a nominal output of 3.4 MW each. The installation of the wind farm is to be completed in spring 2013.
