EDF Commissions New Wind Farm In Greece

On the West Coast, in the Aegean region, the Seyitali wind power plant is located in the province of Izmir, a region with extremely favourable wind conditions. The wind farm is equipped with fifteen Enercon wind turbines, each with a unit capacity of 2MW.

The wind power project was developed and built by Polat Enerji, a 50/50 subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles and Adnan Polat Group; a well-known and experienced developer and the local partner of EDF Energies Nouvelles since 2008.

Following the commissioning of Burgaz in 2007 (14.9 MW), Sayalar in 2008 (34.2 MW) and Soma 1 in 2010 (79.2 MW), this wind energy project strengthens the Group’s position in Turkey. EDF Energies Nouvelles boasts a total gross installed capacity of 158.3MW (59.4MW net) in the country as well as 205.8MW under construction.
