Two wind energy plans approved in Cornwall

Councillors have given permission for two 100ft (30m) tall wind turbines to be constructed east of Grampound by Airvolution.

Permission has also been given for five wind turbines at St Mawgan to go alongside an existing wind farm at Bear’s Down, subject to noise level assurances.

However, at the same meeting on Thursday, they rejected an application for five wind turbines at St Erme. The St Erme application was made by Coronation Power.

It was the company’s second application after previous plans for wind seven turbines were turned down. The company said it was considering appealing against the decision.
