Texas Tech University Wind Energy Center Receives $4.1 Million Grant

The Texas Tech University Wind Science and Engineering Research Center will be part of a project which has received $4.1 million in grant funding from the US department of energy to develop cheaper wind energy technology.

The Alstom wind turbines project will be conducted in partnership with several other wind power centers that will research and develop control systems and sensors to increase energy production and lower the cost of offshore wind turbines. Texas Tech’s center will play a major role in this research.
