The wind energy plant’s wind turbines, which are spread across the municipalities of Navalperal de Pinares and Ávila, will have an annual production of 42.7 million kWh, enough to meet the energy needs of over 15,800 households. The clean energy produced by the plant will avoid the annual atmospheric emission of 31,600 metric tons of CO2 as well as saving 15,800 tons of oil equivalent (TOE) per year.
Francesco Starace, Enel Green Power CEO, commented: “With this new wind farm, we reinforce Enel Green Power’s commitment to the development of the Spanish renewable sector. Our aim for the Iberian peninsula is to start operating all our pre-registered projects within the established time schedule and capacity framework”.
In Iberia, Enel Green Power operates through Enel Green Power España (EGPE), ownership of which is split between Enel Green Power (60%) and Endesa (40%).
