Wind energy Gamesa supply wind turbines to Enel Green Power in Greece

Gamesa, a global leader in the design, manufacture and maintenance of wind turbines and a top wind farm developer, has sold two wind farm projects in Greece to Enel Green Power: the "Zoodochos Pighi" site (24 MW) and the "Panaghia Soumela" project (14 MW), both in the Macedonia region, in the areas of Kozani and Veria, respectively.

The wind energy projects, developed and built by Gamesa’s wind farm development and sales division, feature combined installed capacity of 38 MW and are equipped with 19 Gamesa G87-2.0 MW wind turbines.

The electricity the wind farms generate will be enough to power more than 16,000 households and will avoid atmospheric emissions of more than 74,000 C02 per year.

Gamesa continues to develop wind farms in Greece, building on its initial foray into the country in 2006 when it began operating its first Greek wind farm, Alogorachi (17 MW). The company has a further 25.5 MW of wind assets under construction in Greece, in addition to a project portfolio totalling 965 MW at varying stages of development, of which nearly half (460 MW) have obtained generation licences.
