At present, the company has an installed capacity of 15,000 electric cars annually at its Bangalore facility, which can be expanded to 30,000 electric cars annually, if required. In a recent statement, Mr R Chandramouli, Operations Chief, Mahindra Reva, stated that the new age Reva NXR will be covering a distance of 100 kms in a single charge. Moreover, the electric car is also expected to come with optional battery, through which the customers want to power their car. The electric car will be carrying either a lead acid battery or a lithium ion battery to charge the car.
The Reva NXR model is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 4 to 5 lakh, where it will remain unchallenged as so far no other car maker sell electric car in the Indian market.
