EGP Iberia discussed internationalization and wind energy

Maurizio Bezzeccheri, Chairman of Enel Green Power Spain for Iberia and Latin America, participated in two important events in Madrid. Enel Green Power’s achievements are based on technological and geographical diversification, a well-balanced energy mix and the internationalisation of knowledge and team work.

The latter was stated by Maurizio Bezzeccheri, Head of Enel Green Power Iberia and Latin America, at the Annual Convention of the Spanish Wind Energy Industry Association (Asociación Empresarial Eólica, AEE) held in Madrid on June 7th.

Bezzeccheri, who said that Spain is a "centre of excellence" for Enel Green Power’s wind power development and Enel’s international growth in this industry, participated in a round table, “Trends and markets in the new international wind power scenario". The debate addressed issues regarding the renewable energy industry, its challenges and its trends and included representatives from Acciona Energía, EON Renovables, Global Wind Energy Council and Vestas Mediterranean.

Bezzeccheri had also recently attended another important convention, the 9th Meeting of the Energy Sector: Effects of Energy Policy on the Industry’s Competitiveness, also held in Madrid. Other executives from the country’s major energy companies attended the meeting, which was held on May 31st, at the IESE business school.

The latter included Endesa’s chairman Borja Prado, Miguel Martínez, Managing Director of Operations at Repsol, who held a debate with Bezzeccheri, and managers of Acciona. Gas Natural Fenosa; Enagás, HC Energía, Iberdrola, PwC and Goldman Sachs. The event’s opening speech was held by Deputy Minister for Energy Fabricio Hernández, while María Teresa Costa, Chairman of the National Energy Commission, concluded the meeting.

Participants discussed various aspects of the energy sector, including employment, supplies, security, transport, internationalization and policies.
