The Canadian Wind Energy Association and DMI Industries Celebrate Global Wind Day

The Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) and DMI Industries with special guest Minister Duguid will join to celebrate Global Wind Day on June 15, 2011 in conjunction with DMI’s 5th Anniversary of operation in Ontario.

When: Wednesday, June 15, 10:30 a.m.

Where: 2677 Winger Road, Stevensville, ON L0S 1S0

Activities will include a tour of DMI’s wind turbines manufacturing plant followed by a special address to event attendees, a luncheon, and an escorted tour of the nearby Mohawk Point Wind Farm.

For the third consecutive year, the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) and the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) will coordinate Global Wind Day through a network of partners including CanWEA. On June 15th, thousands of public events will be organized simultaneously around the world to promote wind power and its environmental, social and economic benefits. This year, DMI joins the festivities in recognition of its fifth anniversary of operation in Ontario.

Wind energy’s growing contribution to Ontario’s electricity supply is making Ontario a leader in green energy production, and bringing jobs and economic opportunities to local communities.
