Wind Energy Vestas receives 149 MW wind turbines order in Canada

Vestas has received a 149 MW wind power order for 83 V90-1.8 MW wind turbines for a wind energy project in Canada. The contract includes delivery and commissioning along with a 10-year service and maintenance agreement. Delivery is scheduled for fall 2012 and commissioning expected in late 2012. At the customer’s request, additional details about the customer cannot be disclosed.

The wind farm project’s name and specific location will be disclosed at a later date. It is Vestas’ second announced order in Canada in 2011. In April, Vestas secured an order for 104 MW consisting of 58 V90-1.8 MW wind turbines. Overall, Vestas has secured five orders in North America this year equating to 774 MW.

Vestas is the No. 1 wind-turbine supplier in Canada, providing an industry-leading 1,021 wind turbines totaling 1,683 MW of installed wind farm capacity as of Dec. 31, 2010.
