Concentrating Solar Power to use Televent distributed control system

Shams Power Co., a joint venture of Masdar, Total and Abengoa, selected Telvent’s solution to control and operate one of the world’s largest concentrated solar power projects and one of the first of its kind in the Middle East. The project will use 768 parabolic troughs.

Shams Power Co.’s plant operators will have the ability to control and supervise all solar plant processes, allowing it to manage the position of the solar power trough collectors to efficiently capture the sun’s energy over the entire course of the day, anticipating weather conditions and improving the power block output.
