Jamil Malikov, deputy director of the Agency for Renewable and Alternative Energy Sources at the Ministry of Industry and Energy, said that construction of the solar power plant would be finished by July.
"Its capacity will be five megawatts. Construction is funded by the state budget. The plant will use wind energy and solar energy, biogas and geothermal energy. It will belong to the Agency and will be a pilot for alternative energy development,” Malikov said.
Electricity from the plant will be supplied to Azerbaijan’s national grid, operated by Azerenerji.
