Over 30 Angolan localities to get solar power systems

Emanuela Vieira Lopes said so while addressing the opening ceremony of the first National Conference on Clean Energies under the motto “Electrifying Angola preserves environment”, which is happening in auditorium of Luanda power supply company (EDEL).

According to her, the project will benefit schools, medical posts, water pumping systems, local administrations, residences and police stations.

In addition, the minister said that feasibility studies on wind power were conducted in Tigres Bay and Tômbwa district in the south-west Namibe province.

The event, jointly organised by the Ministry of Energy and Waters and Norwegian embassy, is being attended by government officials, experts in renewable energies, technicians of various sectors, among others.
