With encouragement and assistance from The State of Oregon’s Business Development Officer, Dennie Houle, and the City of Astoria Mayor, Willis L. Van Dusen, in support of their efforts to enhance alternative energy job creation, WindPower Innovations, Inc., in association with A.F. Dick Manufacturing, Inc., will immediately be able to participate in a segment of the Wind Energy market serving the massive one to five megawatt wind turbines.
"This is intended to be one of several strategic locations throughout the U.S., the next most likely being in the Texas/New Mexico region, and will give us the ability to fulfill high volume contracts, with equipment of any size," says John Myers, CEO of WindPower Innovations. "The Oregon site was chosen because of its central location, as well as the area’s rail and deep water port access, which will provide national and international access to and from our facility."
Mr. Myers goes on to add, "This association will strengthen both companies and give us a strong presence in the Pacific Northwest. A.F. Dick Manufacturing, Inc. has wanted to participate in wind energy for some time and it’s a perfect fit for both of us. They have the facilities and equipment we need to carry out our full range of services for the large turbine format, including repair, major overhaul of all Gearboxes and the retrofitting of turbines already in service with more efficient, higher output, Permanent Magnet Technology."
WindPower Innovations, Inc., is a wind power infrastructure and smart grid solutions company that is continually working on new innovations for wind turbines, wind energy generation and transmission, in addition to the comprehensive maintenance, repair and re-manufacture of exiting equipment.
