Ukraine – Concorde Group to start building Kazantip wind power plant

"The preparation [for the construction] has been completed by 99%, and now crediting issues are being settled. We plan that we’ll start construction in March or April [2011]," he said.

He said that the company has solved land allocation issues, received all permits, including a permit to join Ukrainian power grid and conducted a study of wind blasts and assessment of the impact on environment.

Investment in wind energy the project is estimated at EUR 150-154 million.

"A project on the construction of Sivash wind power plant [Crimea] is at the same level of readiness. All documents are ready, and studies have been conducted. However, taking into account that the project is larger – 350 MW, we’ve decided to divide it into three stages," Konechenkov said.

He said that construction of Sivash wind turbines plant would be started in late 2011 or early 2012.

Concorde Group plans to equip the two plants with wind electricity generators with the 2.5-3 MW generating capacity each.

Concorde Group was established in 2005, and since 2007 the company has been realizing wind energy projects in western and eastern part of Crimea.
