Wind energy in Mexico – Wind farm Los Vergeles start construction in November 2010

Wind farm will have 161 megawatts at San Fernando, Tamaulipas. The wind power plant will have 70 wind turbines with a private investment of $ 330 million dollars and will provide cheaper electricity for the 43 municipalities of the state. Tamaulipas wind farm will have 161 megawatts.

Energy Secretary Georgina Kessel Martinez, supported the initiative of Governor Eugenio Hernandez Flores to take advantage of the wind potential of Tamaulipas and crystallize the construction of what will be the first wind power plant in Latin America by a government administration, which is located in the community of Los Vergeles, in San Fernando.
