Gamesa signs wind energy contracts with 3 Chinese companies

Gamesa, one of the world’s top wind power manufacturers Thursday said it had signed contracts with three Chinese companies to supply 192 wind turbines with a total capacity of 251 megawatts within the year.

Gamesa signed three agreements with Datang Renewable Power Co., Ltd., Guangdong Nuclear Wind Power Company Limited and Henan Weite Wind Power Co., Ltd, which will see the company deliver 146 MW of G90 wind turbines and 105 MW of G58 wind turbines within the year.

According to Gamesa, the Chinese market will account for around 25 percent of total Gamesa wind turbines sales around the world this year, and 30 percent in 2013.

In China, Gamesa is involved in the manufacture of wind turbines from 1.5 MW to 2.5 MW. Up till 2009, Gamesa had invested a total of 42 million euros on wind energy facilities in China. An additional 90 million euros will be invested from 2010 to 2012, bringing its cumulative investment in China to more than 130 million euros.
