Windstar financial close now scheduled for October 2010

Considerable progress has been made and the due diligence is essentially complete. The size and complexity of the transaction has required more time than originally anticipated and the financing is now anticipated to close by mid-October 2010.

Heavy construction is planned to begin immediately upon the completion of the financial close. Financial close is still subject to final approval by the respective debt committees of each lender.

Western Wind is a vertically integrated renewable energy electrical production company that currently owns over 500 wind turbines with 34.5 MW of rated capacity and a further 131 MW of expansion power purchase agreements in the States of California and Arizona.

Western Wind further owns additional development assets for both solar and wind power in California, Arizona, Ontario, Canada and has a development team in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
