WindTamer Completes Installation of Wind Turbines at Carousel Center in Syracuse, New York

WindTamer Corporation ("WindTamer") (OTCBB: WNDT) announced that it has completed the installation of two rooftop-mounted 4.5GT WindTamer wind turbines at Carousel Center/Destiny USA, which is located near the intersection of interstate highways I-81 and I-90 in Syracuse, New York.

Carousel Center is one of central New York’s premier shopping and entertainment destinations. The wind turbines are mounted on the southeast and northeast corners of the new three-story, 60-foot tall 1.3 million square foot expansion. The installations were made possible through a federal grant designed to showcase renewable energy technologies.

Destiny USA is designed to be a worldwide model for sustainability through the use of a variety of green technologies, and has been pre-certified at the LEED Gold level, a designation that represents the 2nd highest level of green building practice under the United States Green Building Council’s standards.

The installation marks the first rooftop-mounted installation for WindTamer’s wind turbines. Each unit is expected to produce up to 3500 kWh per year based on the available wind speed.

"We had a great experience working with WindTamer and their team of engineers through the design, permitting and installation process," said Melissa Perry, Director of Sustainability for Destiny USA. "The WindTamer turbines will be an excellent demonstration for the successful use of wind energy as a renewable source of power in urban areas."

Adeeb Saba, Vice President of Operations for WindTamer said, "David Hofmeister, our lead engineer on this project, did a great job. The team cleared a number of first hurdles for the company, including our first roof-top mount, our highest installed unit to date, new design elements, the smooth and rapid navigation of the permitting process and the development of a maintenance access plan. I remember meeting Mark Matthews, our Vice President of Sales and Marketing, not that long ago in Syracuse and thinking about the challenge of accomplishing a project of this magnitude, a challenge that WindTamer has successfully met through solid team work and execution."

Mark Matthews said that, "The successful completion of this wind power project is an inkling of what we believe lies ahead for WindTamer in terms of our market opportunity with consumer destinations, big-box retailers and other large commercial structures."

WindTamer Corporation is a developer and manufacturer of wind power generators that utilize a patented technology for the production of electrical power and of a proprietary energy management system that enables customers to reduce and better manage energy costs.
