Danish Society of Wind Energy Conference 2010 opens in Denmark | REVE News of the wind sector in Spain and in the world

This annual wind power conference is organized by the Danish Society of Wind Energy. Connie Hedegaard, EU commissioner for climate action, Lykke Friis, Denmark’s climate and energy minister, Steve Sawyer, secretary general of the Global Wind Energy Council, together with presenters from Danish Energy Agency, Vestas Wind Systems A/S, DONG Energy, Siemens Wind Power and Aalborg University, attended the conference and gave a series of presentations.

Frank A. Olsen, president of the Danish Society of Wind Energy, addressed the opening reception of the conference.

The conference looks at wind energy and climate internationally in a 2020 perspective. Many issues were discussed such as long-term planning and the wind power potential in Denmark towards 2020, the integration of wind power in the European perspective, global industry expectations for 2020, and the evaluation of wind energy law among others.

The Danish Society of Wind Energy is a professional and scientific association for Denmark’s wind industry. It was founded in 2002 by members of the former "Trade Union Committee for the Wind" in the Danish Energy Agency. Its main event is a large annual wind power conference, which focuses on current political, technological and market conditions of wind energy.
