LM Wind Power: New North American service center in Texas

LM Wind Power Service & Logistics announces the opening of their North American regional service center in Abilene, Texas. This center will serve as the southern operations base for wind turbines blade repair business with wind farm installations in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado and New Mexico.

LM Wind Power Service & Logistics is part of the LM Wind Power Group which comprises also LM Wind Power Blades (former LM Glasfiber), a market leader in the wind energy industry supplying rotor solutions to numerous wind turbines manufacturers in all main wind energy markets internationally.

The newly created LM Wind Power Service & Logistics business offers inspection, repair, overhaul, preventive maintenance as well as blade logistics covering the full spectrum of service to wind turbine owners anywhere in the world.

VP, Service Americas, Robert Burger explains: "The new service center in Abilene, Texas is one of LM Wind Power’s six fully staffed North American service centers. More than 90% of the installed base of North American wind turbines are within less than eight hours’ drive for our skilled technicians from these six locations. This enables us to provide our customers with shorter response times and reduced mobilization fees for service calls."

The Abilene/Sweetwater area has the nation’s highest concentration of wind turbines making Abilene an ideal location for their regional blade service business.

LM Wind Power Service & Logistics also announces the opening of our North American regional service center in Eldridge, Iowa. The center is close to numerous wind farm installations in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Missouri.
