Boston-Power Selects Apriso for Manufacturing Execution

Apriso®, a leading provider of manufacturing software solutions for sustained manufacturing operational excellence, today announced Boston-Power, a rapidly growing provider of next-generation lithium-ion batteries, has selected Apriso’s FlexNet® as their enterprise Manufacturing Execution System. Apriso’s solution will be used to enhance Boston-Power’s manufacturing operations and quality assurance program with embedded Statistical Process Control (SPC) capabilities.

“Apriso’s FlexNet is really much more than a typical Manufacturing Execution System. It is a manufacturing operations management system, offering Boston-Power a more comprehensive solution for our rigorous manufacturing needs. FlexNet allows us to monitor and control the performance of our entire manufacturing process, including detailed product traceability and genealogy,” said Declan Shalvey, COO of Boston-Power. “Product Safety and Quality performance are most important to us. By using FlexNet, we are investing in a solution to ensure the level of performance we require in our Six Sigma factories.”

Manufacturers operating within highly dynamic industries are undergoing significant ongoing change and rapid growth, making their quick response to changing conditions a business imperative. This flexibility requirement begins at the shop floor. Firms lacking the ability to quickly prototype new products or shift supply chain logistics in real-time can be in a competitively disadvantageous position, resulting in lost orders, market share and revenues.

“We will use Apriso’s FlexNet to embed Quality Assurance directly within our manufacturing processes, including machine performance monitoring as well as inventory and material flow management. It will be integrated with our other enterprise applications, such as ERP and PLM, to give us the necessary information to effectively run our business,” said Declan Shalvey.

“At Apriso, we’re seeing business momentum from many Cleantech companies facing enormous growth challenges. To keep up, these manufacturers are now looking at Apriso solutions for flexible operations while addressing product quality and brand performance expectations,” explained Jim Henderson, president and CEO of Apriso. “With significant business challenges and competitive threats looming, our customers have enough to worry about without the headache of systems incompatibility, or lack of visibility and control of their global operations.”
