80% Battery Fast Charge in Less Than 30 Minutes

Superlattice Power, Inc. (SLPO), emerging leader in the development and marketing of next generation lithium-powered batteries worldwide, proudly announces due to availability of new Cathode material the development of the fast charge, 80% state of charge (SOC) battery pack in less than 30 minutes shows promising results.

Superlattice Power technologists have resourced a new cathode material which is a safe and environmentally friendly manganese based mixed oxide with minimum thermal run away.

This material is not only able to deliver 10-20% more energy density compared to commercially available cathode materials, but also permits a charging rate of 2C maximum and it takes 30 minutes to charge a battery pack from 264V to 333V without any hazard.

Superlattice Power’s technologists have considered the heat generation and also low capacity in ampere hours during the fast charge process. To maintain at least 80% of the rated capacity of the battery pack Superlattice Power’s design and modeling has considered a charging rate within 1.5C to 1C rate which means a charging time of 40 minutes to 1 hour to drive a car up to 160 miles per charge.

Superlattice Power’s technology facility has developed a charger system and a battery management system to allow charging at a faster rate. Two models of charger will be introduced, with a power rating ranging 30kW to 40kW. The charger design is in the final stages and will be produced commercially at Mooresville, North Carolina, USA.
