Datang to Set up New Wind Power Plant in Dongying

Shandong New Energy Company, which is under the aegis of Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd. (SHSE: 601991), has budgeted CNY 3 billion to set up a new wind power plant in the eastern Chinese county of Kenli, Dongying City, Shandong Province.

Under an agreement signed with the local government in Kenli, Datang will collaborate with the government in wind energy, solar power, and straw power generation.

The wind power plant is designed with an installing capacity of 250 megawatts and it will be located in the No. 5 Dongying wind field. The plant consists of five stages. The stage one is scheduled to break ground in August 2010 and to be complete in 2015.

Now Datang has 33 wind turbines in Dongying, 23 of which have come into operation. Founded in June 2009, Shandong New Energy is specialized in development of new energies in the resource-rich Shandong Province.
