REpower announces results for first nine months of fiscal year 2009/10

 Total performance climbs up 10% to EUR 932.1 million. EBIT rises more than 47% to EUR 56.3 million.

In the period 1 April to 31 December 2009, the REpower Systems Group (Prime Standard, WKN 617703) generated a total performance figure of EUR 932.1 million according to provisional calculations, compared to EUR 842.9 million in the corresponding period of the previous year from 1 April to 31 December 2008. The operating result (EBIT) improved above average from EUR 38.1 million to EUR 56.3 million. In calendar year 2009, market share in Germany increased to 8.8% against 5.6% in the previous year.

In the reporting period from 1 April to 31 December 2009, total operating revenue increased by more than 10% from EUR 842.9 million last year to EUR 932.1 million. Sales developed along the same trend, growing compared to the previous year, from EUR 850.5 million to EUR 920.5 million.

Furthermore earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) increased: For the reporting period they amounted to EUR 56.3 million in comparison with EUR 38.1 million for the same period of the previous year.

By the end of December 2009 the order book contained sales contracts with a contractually assured order volume of nearly EUR 1.7 billion. Furthermore, REpower successfully maintained its position as third largest wind turbine manufacturer in Germany and increased its market share to 8.8% in calendar year 2009 (previous year 5.6%). Publication of the final results and the complete quarterly report is expected for 12 February 2010.

REpower Systems AG (WKN 617703) has received a contract from National Wind LLC, America’s leading large-scale community wind power project developer, to supply 20 wind turbines. The REpower MM92 type wind turbines have a rated power of 2.05 MW (megawatts) and a hub height of 100 meters. The wind turbines will be used in the first phase of the Lake Country Wind Energy project in central Minnesota. All phases of the project will total 340 MW.

REpower USA Corp. headquartered in Denver, Colorado, has installed or sold more than 400 wind turbines with a total output of over 800 MW in the US since 2007.

REpower Systems AG (WKN 617703) has won its second major contract with E.ON Climate and Renewables in the UK to develop two new wind farms in County Durham in the North East of England. The wind farms located at Butterwick Moor and Haswell Moor will consist of 15 wind turbines, specification MM82 with a rated power of 2,050 kW each. Together, they will produce 30.75 MW of clean power, enough wind energy for 17,000 homes.
