Enel Green Power will develop wind energy projects for up to 1,000 MW in Mexico

Enel Green Power and Enerthi México have signed an agreement aimed at developing wind projects in Mexico, for an installed capacity of up to 1,000 MW.

Under the agreement, Enel Green Power will have the exclusive access to wind projects that will be developed by the Mexican subsidiary of the Spanish company Enerthi (Energías Renovables, Térmica e Hidráulica), as well as the right to acquire them once they are fully authorized.

The sites, which are in the States of Baja California, Zacatecas and Oaxaca, each have a preliminary installed capacity ranging from 60 to 200 MW.

Enel Green Power is present since 2007 on the Mexican renewable market with 3 hydroelectric plants, for a total installed capacity of 52 MW. By virtue of this agreement, Enel Green Power strengthens its presence in the promising Mexican market of renewables, that is characterized, among other traits, by a wind potential of over 10,000 MW, which could be developed in the next few years.
