Wind energy in Brazil: Bioenergy Power Generation to deploy 15 Wind Farm plants in Maranhão

The board of the Energy Agency (ANEEL) has authorised the Bioenergy Power Generation S/A to act as an independent producer of electricity energy through the setting up and operation of 15 wind power plants in Maranhão

The wind turbines of “Eólicas Ventos do Norte” 1 to 10 and “Marcos dos Ventos” 1 to 5 will be established in the municipalities of Paulino Neves and Tutóia, respectively. Each farm will account for an installed capacity of 28.8 MW.

ANEEL also gave permission for Eolo Energy S/A to produce energy in Rio Grande do Norte. The company will deploy and operate the “Rei dos Ventos 4” wind farm, totalling up to 28.8 megawatts of installed capacity. The wind energy plant will be located in the municipalities of North Caiçara and São Bento do Norte. These decisions were made at the last meeting of the ANEEL board.
