Alberta regulators have given the green light to NaturEner Energy Canada?s 162 MW Wild Rose 2 wind power project.

The first phase of Wild Rose wind farm was approved last October. The company is reviewing options to accelerate the two wind farm projects having received final approval from the Alberta Utilities Commission after years of environmental studies and public consultations, said Bill Alexander, chief development officer, in a statement Friday.

NaturEner paused plans to develop a wind energy project in Montana after a merchant transmission line into Alberta was put on hold because of regulatory issued. It already generates 210 MW of wind power in the state.

The company had contracted firm transmission scheduling rights to import up to 300 MW of power into Alberta over the proposed Montana-Alberta Tie Line.
