Today’s announcement confirms a release issued on June 9, 2011, by Greengate, which provides more details about the wind farm. It also follows a statement issued on June 9, 2011, by Vestas Wind Systems A/S, parent company to Vestas-Canadian Wind Technology Inc., which unfortunately incorrectly referenced Vestas’ relationship with Greengate in the form of ongoing negotiations.
The agreement between Vestas and Greengate is currently a conditional order. Once the wind turbines order is firm and unconditional, Vestas will make a separate company announcement.
“We are extremely pleased to provide wind turbines and services for this impressive wind power project,” said Martha Wyrsch, president of Vestas Canadian-Wind Technology, Inc. “Greengate is an outstanding wind energy project developer with a solid reputation, and when it is finished, Blackspring Ridge I will be extremely beneficial for all of Alberta.”
Pursuant to the terms of the long-term service and maintenance agreements, Vestas will also supply 10 years of service and maintenance for Blackspring Ridge I.
