Wind power ensured 20% of the electricity consumption in Romania

The wind energy ensured on Friday 20% of the electricity consumption, which places Romania on the fourth place in Europe, after Denmark (81% of consumption), Germany (37%) and Austria (23% of the consumption).

According to the data provided by the association Wind Europe, the wind energy ensured 19% of the consumption of Portugal (fifth), followed by Sweden (15%), the Netherlands (11%), Spain (10%) and Cyprus (10%).

The top of the quantity of wind power produced is led by Germany, 550 GWh, followed by Italy (99GWh) and Denmark (83GWh). Romania does not get into this top.

On the whole continent, wind energy ensured on Friday 12.5% of the electricity demand (1,099 GWh) of terrestrial generators and 155 GWh of offshore wind turbines.
