First wind farm to be built in Kaliningrad region

Construction of the first phase of a new wind farm will be launched in the Kaliningrad region in Russia in July 2017.

As Construction.RU was told today by the press office of JSC Yantarenergo, the building of a new wind farm in the village of Ushakovo situated in the Guryevsky district of the Kaliningrad region is planned to be carried out in several stages.

The first stage, which starts on the 1st of July and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2017, involves the mounting of three wind turbines with a capacity of 2,3 MW each.

Over the course of the first year of operation of these units, a capacity of the old wind farm in Kulikovo will be replaced for 5.1 MW. Then the capacity will increase up to 6.9 MW and more.
