“I’m very excited at this new opportunity. As Chairman I will focus on strengthening the role of GWEC in new and emerging markets and help sustain the positive momentum surrounding GWEC after the adoption of the new market making strategy and the many new members that have joined GWEC recently”, said Morten Dyrholm.
Dyrholm succeeds Dr Klaus Rave, who chaired GWEC since 2010.
“It’s hard to say good bye to Klaus who has supported us so well for so long. Klaus was one of the early pioneers of the global wind industry whose invaluable knowledge and dedication will bear fruit for years to come, and is deeply appreciated throughout the industry. However, I’m excited to welcome Morten who I’ve known for nearly a decade and look forward to working with him to bring GWEC to the next level”, said Steve Sawyer, Secretary General of GWEC.
The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) is the global trade association representing the wind industry. GWEC works at the highest international political level to create a better policy environment for wind power. GWEC’s mission is to ensure that wind power establishes itself as the answer to today’s energy challenges, providing substantial environmental and economic benefits.
