National Mall art celebrates wind power

The New York Times reported that Procter & Gamble will start using wind power to run factories that produce home goods like Febreeze and Mr. Clean. However, The Times did not mention that, in celebration of the development, the National Mall was covered in a unique art installation consisting of thousands of pinwheels. Not to worry, Roll Call was on top of the turning mini-turbines.

Spectators rode up a cherry picker to view the installation from above, where the pinwheels resembled a wind turbine and bottles of Tide and Downy, products that will soon be labeled as 100% wind-powered.

Just like Monday’s early morning breeze gently spun pinwheels on the National Mall, soon the winds of the Texas prairie will turn wind turbines and help manufacture some of America’s most well-known household brands in a clean, renewable fashion.
