Saudi Arabia Establishes 50MW Solar Power Plant

King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) signed today two memorandums of understanding with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) and Saudi Company for Development and Technology Investment (TAQNIA) to establish the first solar power plant with a capacity of 50MW in the city of Saudi Aflaj, which will be the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The two memorandums were signed by Prince Dr. Turki bin Saud bin Mohammed, the President of KACST; the CEO of SEC, Eng. Zyad bin Mohammed Al-Shiha; the CEO of TAQNIA, Dr. Abdulrahman bin Ali Al-Muhanna and a number of officials.
