Broadwind Energy Gets $14 Million Tower Order From U.S. Company

Broadwind Energy Inc., a Cicero, Illinois-based maker of steel towers, won an order worth $14 million from a U.S. wind-turbine manufacturer.

The company will make the towers at factories in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and Abilene, Texas, according to a statement today. The buyer wasn’t identified.

Almost three quarters of Broadwind’s 2015 production capacity now has been filled, with the remainder expected to be sold by the end of this year, Chief Executive Officer Peter Duprey said in the statement.
