Iran launches new wind farm

Iran has launched a new wind farm in Takestan, located in northwestern Qazvin Province, the Mehr News Agency announced on Saturday.

Two other wind farms will be established soon in Khorasan and Sistan-Baluchestan provinces, northeast and southeast of the country, respectively.
In October 2013, the managing director of Iran Power Generation Transmission and Distribution Management Company (TAVANIR) said that Iran will establish three new wind farms, each with a power generation capacity of 350 megawatts (MW).
Homayoun Haeri added that the company will ink deals in the near future with the private sector to design, establish, and operate the new wind farms.
