SeaEnergy and Robert Gordon University in wind farm cost initiative

Offshore services specialist SeaEnergy has teamed up Robert Gordon University to work out the optimum way to maintain offshore windfarms.

The knowledge transfer partnership (KTP) with the aim of cutting the cost of offshore wind power and will receive financial support from the the Technology Strategy Board through its KTP Partnership programme.

More than 40,000 MW of offshore wind power capacity is planned around the UK, with similar amounts planned for elsewhere in Europe.

Each wind farm and operator will have to determine the optimal operations and maintenance (O&M) strategy for its fleet of windfarms.
