REpower Systems (Suzlon) has installed wind turbines with a capacity of 325 MW at a wind farm in Belgium.

Wind power major Suzlon Energy Ltd. said its Group-subsidiary REpower Systems SE has installed wind turbines with a capacity of 325 MW at a wind farm in Belgium.
According to a company statement, ABB and THV Seawind, a consortium between DEME and Fabricom, were among the installation partners. REpower CEO Andreas Neuen said, “We are very proud to have installed the largest fleet of 6 megawatt turbines worldwide. Thornton Bank confirms the long-term potential of the market. We offer our customers the best tecnologoghy combined with experience in building projects in complex and challenging environments.” A 325 MW capacity can supply power to 600,000 people.
In terms of investment volume, the contract marks the largest financing for a completed project to date in the offshore wind industry overall.
Companies from Belgium, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden are involved in the venture with Thornton Bank, making the wind farm a showcase project for the European offshore wind industry, the company said. AT the BSE, Suzlon Energy shares are currently trading at Rs.8.90, up 0.91 percent from the previous close.
