  • At the end of every week, the Energy.gov team likes to highlight our favorite energy-related photos. We call it our “Photo of the Week” feature (take a look at past editions here).

  • Last Friday, we decided to try something different. On Energy Facebook, we challenged you to think up creative, insightful, and funny captions to describe our Photo of Week post from July 20:

  • To give you some background, the photo above was taken at the National Wind Technology Center (NWTC) in majestic Colorado. It is one of four wind testing facilities funded by the Energy Department. These facilities serve as hubs for researchers to test and validate cutting edge wind technologies. The work helps reduce costs for wind manufacturers, speed deployment of wind projects, and promote the growth of U.S. companies.
