In May 734 electric vehicles were sold in Spain

The electric car registrations in the Spanish market amounted to 734 units during the month of May, which is multiplied by more than eleven figures for the same month last year, according to the National Association of Importers of Automobiles, Trucks, buses and Motorcycles (ANIACAM).

In the first five months of this year, deliveries of electric vehicles with zero emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) reached 1,650 units, representing an increase of 323% compared with data from the same period last year.

By segment, sales of electric cars were 75 units in May, 525% more, while in the full year until last month this figure rose by 122% to 233 units. In May sold 19 derived from tourism (+138%) and 131 units so far in 2012 (+992%).

Meanwhile, the supply of electric commercial vehicles grew 13% in May to 9 units, and fell by 52% through May, with 20 units. Electric motorcycle registrations totaled 377 units last month, a 1,116% increase, and 679 units in the first five months, a 265% increase.

In May, the Spanish market sold a total of 254 electric quads compared to 4 units delivered in the same month of 2011 (4133%), while between January and May 587 units were delivered, which is multiplied by more than 13 data 2011.
