Carsington Wind Energy, the group behind the wind turbines project, said work would begin in the week beginning 21 May and take about six months to complete.
Karen Elliott, planning manager of West Coast Energy, the parent company of Carsington Wind Energy, said: "We are very pleased that the wind farm is commencing construction and we look forward to delivering the benefits of the development to the local community."
Carsington Wind Energy said the wind turbines would generate about 26,280mwh of electricity each year, enough to power about 5,591 homes.
A series of "local liaison" meetings will be held throughout the construction period to keep nearby residents informed about the wind power project.
