Wind energy in Brazil: Acciona sells wind turbines to CPFL

Acciona has sold 120 MW of wind turbines in Brazil to CPFL Renováveis, while plans to build a wind turbine factory. The agreement is the first wind turbines from Acciona sale in Brazil, although renewable energy company is negotiating with other wind farm developers that won contracts in previous tenders.

Acciona AW 3000 wind turbines have already been approved by the BNDES, which means that wind farm developers can get bank financing.

Wind turbine manufacturers must obtain at least 60% of the components of its wind turbines in Brazil to obtain approval from the BNDES. Acciona could build a wind turbine factory in Brazil, as they have Vestas, Enercon, Suzlon, Impsa, GE, Siemens, Sinovel, Goldwind, Alstom and Gamesa.
