RRB Energy eyes Chile wind energy

With the demand for wind energy going up in the recent years, the company hopes to spread its reach across South America, the company said in a statement.

The company was looking at delivering a diversified range of wind electric generators, said Rakesh Bakshi, Chairman and Managing Director of RRB Energy, during the visit of President of the Senate of Chile, Guido Girardi, at the company’s manufacturing facility to explore the possibility of business association with the company.

RRB Energy Ltd currently has installations in states of Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala and Karnataka.

With an order book size of Rs 10 billion, the company recently announced investing around Rs 1 billion as part of setting up a new facility near Poonamallee. The investment would help the company set up a new facility in the SIPCOT Industrial Complex near Poonamallee.

RRB has launched a 1.8 MW capacity wind turbine and working on development of higher capacity wind turbines.

The company expects its overall production capacity to reach 800 MW during fiscal year 2012-13. It is expecting to clock turnover of Rs 40 billion in fiscal 2011-12.
