“Exelon is one of the top diversified energy companies in the US market, which is why this contract is an important success for us. In addition, it is particularly satisfying to share our excitement about the N117/2400 with a company able to take advantage of its increased yields and capabilities,” says Ralf Sigrist, President and CEO of Nordex USA.
Exelon will be commencing the preparatory construction work at the site in May, with the turbines to be supplied from the Nordex US production facility in late summer 2012.
The “Beebe” wind farm is the first project that Nordex USA has developed, after entering a joint venture last year with the local developer who initiated the project.
The “Beebe” wind power project had already been recorded as order intake in 2011 as the binding contract was signed at the end of December. The conditions on which the announcement of the contract was contingent have since been satisfied.
